Man Mondays

Here at Whitney's Confidential we are starting a new blog trend with Man Mondays. Every Monday I'm going to pick my man trend of the week with either breakthrough or timeless trends we love on men. Let me start off with three words that melt in every woman's mouth; three piece suit. Timeless and gaurenteed to make you feel like a million bucks. Whenever I watch John Legend's "Tonight" music video, I just can't get over him in that suit. Makes my heart skip a couple beats. This look not only makes a guy look sharp, it gives him automatic confidence. They are for more than just office wear nowadays as well. You will find them at weddings, galas, parties, funerals and ceremonies for example. Now just saying three piece suit doesn't give a guy any insight on the the logistics of the suit that make a woman lose her words. First and foremost, three piece suits are different from tuxedos. Most important thing a man can learn when upgrading his wardrobe. A three piece consists of a vest that is of the same matching material as the rest of the suit unlike a tux that has a standout vest which purpose is for example is to match the bridesmaid dresses at a wedding. Second step is to know how to wear one. I always think of custom made but my mind tends to go where my budget cannot. Regardless, of its it custom made or tailored at men's wearhouse, go for a timeless, classy look. The fit of the suit can take it anywhere from sharp and confident to baggy and bummy. Try to avoid the latter of the two. Next step is the shirt you wear underneath. The most common under shirt is a white collared shirt. This leaves you with basically any option for a tie color and pattern. Another option is a shirt that blends with the suit and doesn't have any oppositing factors to it. This is more of a look if you like to keep your blazer open and not buttoned. Lastly we have a shirt that is of opposing color and pattern. This is a little older of a look but nontheless still an option. This is best paired with a diagonal tie. Regardless of which undershirt you choose, this look is not going anywhere. I think I speak for women and gay men alike when I say, invest in at lease one good quality three piece suit in your life, you won't regret it. I'll leave you with saying confidence can be faked but style cannot. Xoxo.

P.S. I suppose John Legend can have this week's mcm spot :) #chrissyisaluckywoman
